A word from our senior ministers

In the Books of Acts we read that when the Holy Spirit fell on Jesus’ disciples, they were empowered to excel in partnering with Him in building His Church.  This divine empowerment, which came through an incredible God encounter, resulted in the disciples seeing thousands upon thousands of unbelievers stepping over the line of faith and becoming committed disciples of Jesus.  As they ministered under the anointing of the Holy Spirit they witnessed many amazing miracles and the Church grew in number and influence.

The Lord wants to empower us to excel in fulfilling His plan and purpose in the City of Bunbury and beyond.  The Lord is calling us to partner with Him in building His church.  We need to be passionate about putting ourselves in a place where we encounter God because empowerment comes through encounter.

One of the most powerful ways to encounter God is through a regular personal devotional time.  When we spend time reading the Bible, the Lord speaks to us and He increases our faith because faith is built through hearing the Word.  Furniture craftsmen say that it takes around forty coats of varnish to produce a sense of depth in the shiny finish.  In the same way, spending time in the Word and praying every day is the best way to develop a depth of faith.  Other great ways to encounter God include corporate worship, hearing the preaching and teaching of the Word and corporate prayer.  We won’t receive power to be His witnesses unless we are committed to putting ourselves in a place where the Lord can touch us.

Let’s ask the Lord to fill us daily by His Spirit, so that we can excel in all we do for His glory.
