MOPS Report Term 3 2008

Term 3 is well underway and that means that MOPS is back in full swing. Today (Wed 30/07/08) was a very cruzy morning of catch up, coffee and meeting our new mentor’s Wendy Hebbard and Renee Thompson. The craft team taught us how to make phone or key ring bling and we had a guest visit from Dianne who works at Jobs South West. Dianne is working with Wendy Perdon and Grace to offer our MOPS Mum’s – and other women in the same circumstances – a course to prepare them to re-enter the workforce, the women attending the course will receive a Certificate 1 in workplace preparation, this will teach them skills in administration and they will obtain a senior first aid certificate. Among other things, this term, we will have teachings on Image, our relationships with our Dad, our children’s Dad and our heavenly Dad (in the theme of Father’s Day) and our resident parenting guru, Rhonda Lindberg will be speaking to us again this term on raising great kids. Our craft team has lots of great ideas to share with us as well.
Today we had 5 new Mum’s & 4 very pregnant Mum’s, so it’s all happening!
The annual WA M.O.P.S. conference is on in September, so we expect to come back re-charged with great ideas.
